Anderson, a former team captain is in his fifth season with the Colts and his 11th professional season overall. After playing his entire career in various independent leagues, Anderson finally received his chance to play in affiliated ball when the Chicago White Sox signed him in mid-June last year. The second baseman was assigned to Single-A Kannapolis in North Carolina where he batted .281 with 11 doubles and 20 RBIs in 53 games. He hit safely in the first 31 games of the 2006 season, breaking the independent leagues record for longest hitting streak en route to winning the first ever ULB MVP Award. As reward for his amazing year, Anderson was selected to Baseball America's All-Independent Leagues team. In 2006, he also sported the third highest on-base percentage in the league (.445) and struck out only 33 times in 272 at-bats. The Duluth, Minnesota native has a .303 career average. Anderson has also driven in at least 45 runs in his last three seasons and amassed 95 hits or more the last four years.
