March 3, 2010 - Well the Winter Olympics have come and gone. It was an exciting three week ride. From the always controversial figure skating to the final event of ice hockey, which featured an overtime showdown between the U.S.A and Canada these Olympics will have long lasting memories both good and bad.

So whether you are a fan of skiing, curling or just the Olympics in general, it is the true sports fan dream. Athletes and teams compete not for money but just to be the best in the world. Now that professionals are allowed in the Olympics some may say it takes away from it. I say it adds to it. When millionaire veteran players just want to win to show how important the pride is for their home country, to say they are the best, world champs and win nothing more than a medal, it says a lot.

The one thing I always enjoy about the Olympics is that there are certain events that you will only watch because it is the Olympics and it is just amazing for that reason. How many of us watch curling, figure skating, or skiing on a regular basis. However because it is the Olympics we will watch it.

The stories of overcoming tragedy like Canadian Figure Skater Joannie Rochette who not only skated but medaled just days after her mother died. After she skated through her short program nearly flawless, she broke down in tears. The world watched and rooted for her. You would have to have a heart of stone not to; she may be the most impressive bronze medalist winner ever. It's also the unexpected underdog victories like the 1980 U.S. Hockey Miracle on Ice Team; the inside looks at life in other countries and the beauties of the host countries we never see. It is for these reasons the whole world unites to watch these games. It is where dreams are made and historic events happen. You watch because "You Believe in Miracles", Yes? You will even be surprised what got some of the most votes.

Our recent poll of revealed this:
